President Rosemary Hansen
Raised and educated in the Midwest. Life long Republican with a long history of volunteerism. Management experience in both not for profit and for profit businesses. Rosemary been a Fountain Hills resident for 19 years and serves as an elected Golden Eagle Precinct Committee person.
1st Vice -President Leona Johnson
Leona and her husband Bruce first discovered Fountain Hills in the mid 80’sand moved to the town permanently in 1997 upon Leona’s early retirement from teaching. Bruce, a native of Bloomington, IL had retired from teaching social studies and coaching football and wrestling in South Bend, IN several years before. Leona, from Beaver Falls, PA had taught Language Arts for 35 years, 30 of them in South Bend.
Leona grew up in a Polish-American family with pictures on the wall of Jesus, Mary, Joseph, and FDR. Bruce, a cousin of Adlai Stevenson, was also a Democrat until the late 60’s. They left the Democrat Party when they saw the destruction of the black family and, the deterioration of public schools under the radical policies of President Lyndon Johnson and the corrupt National Education Association which promoted those policies.
Bruce became a daily listener of Rush Limbaugh and during the 1800 miles of travel back and forth between Indiana and Arizona several times a year managed to convince Leona to listen and pay attention. Their first involvement in Republican politics in Arizona was volunteering for Congressman J.D. Hayworth and joining the Fountain Hills Republican Club. A few years later Leona became a member of the Arizona Federation of Republican Women and the National Federation of Republican Women.
Leona has served as publicity chairman of the FHRC for almost 20 years and has served on the Board of Directors as a chairman and member of several committees in addition to being the 2nd Vice-President and currently the 1st Vice-President.
She has served on the NFRW’s Board of Directors since 2003 as Outreach/Diversity Chairman and member of the Membership and Public Relations Committees. She has been a delegate to 9 NFRW conventions. She also served as 2nd and 1st VP and President of the AzFRW
She has been a PC, a State Committeemen, and an Alternate Delegate to the RNC Convention in New York City and attended RNC conventions in Tampa and Cleveland as a member of the NFRW Regents.

Personal highlights: being a part of five amazing step-children’s lives for 45 years; being a grandma of 7 and great-grandma of 5; being a director of a travel club for over 20 years which included being a tour escort to Europe; visiting China in 1981; going to the British Open in Troon, Scotland; owning an Irish pub for 8 years; dancing with the Drifters in the 60’s
2nd Vice – Chris P. P. Brant
During Chris Brant’s ten years of service as an Officer in the Royal Marine Commandos he met and fell in love with a pretty lass from Portsmouth, N. H., Ellen Keyes. After the couple returned to this country Chris proudly earned and received his United States citizenship in 1983. He immediately registered as a Republican and soon after became a Precinct Committeeman for Fountain Hills. He served two terms as President of the FHRC in the mid 1990’s. Since retiring, after 31 years from his sales position with McGraw-Hill, the school book publishers, he has been a member of the FHRC Board. He held the position of First Vice President of the club 2013-14. Chris was named Republican of the Year in 2017.
Chris served three two year terms as President of AERA, an Arizona School Book Publishers Representatives’ Organization during his tenure with McGraw-Hill. He was President of Rescue a Golden of Arizona (Golden Retrievers) between 2015-17. Ellen and Chris remain very active with this group. He is Secretary “for life” of the Fountain Hills Toymakers, Inc. The group makes over 500 toys for under privileged children each year. Chris is a proud associate member of the Marine Corps League Detachment 1429 and an active member of the Fountain Hills Woodworkers Club.
3rd Vice – President Shari Morris
Shari Morris has lived in Fountain Hills for the last 13 years and has been a board member of the Fountain Hills Republican Club for 2 years. She currently holds the position of 3rd Vice President. Shari is a licensed insurance agent and has been in the insurance industry for over 20 years. She currently works for a major health insurance carrier.
Secretary Boe James
Born in Missouri, raised in many places, he graduated from high school in Tucson, AZ.
Seven days after graduation, he joined the Navy. He graduated from the US Naval Academy degree and was commissioned an Ensign. During the next 24+ years he served in a wide variety of ships, including a Destroyer, a Guided Missile Cruiser, and multiple types of Amphibious Warfare vessels. Stateside shore duty included multiple tours for studies at the Surface Warfare School in Newport Rhode Island. Overseas duty included a Person Exchange Tour with the Royal Navy (British) where he served as the Staff Plans Officer for the Commodore Amphibious Warfare (COMAW), the Amphibious Plans Officer for Flag Officer 3rd Flotilla (FOF3) and with NATO as the Plans Officer for the United Kingdom and Netherlands Amphibious Group (UKNLPHIBGRU). Later he also served with NATO at HQ Allied Forces Southern Europe (AFSOUTH) as a Special Assistant to the Chief of Staff (SPACOS) and Assistant Secretary to the Staff for the Commander-in-Chief, Allied Forces Southern Europe.
Later he Commanded USS RACINE LST 1191 making a very short notice deployment to the South Pacific for Operation Remembrance carrying the 1st Marine Division Band and US Marines of Task Force Guadalcanal to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of WW II battles in the South Pacific. As the Commanding Officer of USS RACINE LST 1191, he was the senior Naval Officer present at Guadalcanal. 6 Medal of Honor awardees were present at the ceremony as well as numerous USMC Generals and other senior officers as well many senior representatives from allied nations. As a part of the operation, he conducted a burial at sea of a now-deceased WWII Guadalcanal survivor.
For his last tour on Active Duty he served as the Chief of Staff, Surface Warfare Development Group at Little Creek, VA (Norfolk/Virginia Beach). He completed his military career as a Navy Captain (0-6/Colonel equiv).
Leaving the Navy and transitioning to civilian life, he completed a Masters of Science in Management degree and commenced studies for a MBA. He became General Manager and President for HarborLink, a passenger ferry operating in Hampton Roads between Norfolk and Hampton, VA.
Leaving VA and returning to AZ, he settled in Fountain Hills. He soon joined the Board of the Fountain Hills Republican Club. Later, he served two 2-years terms as President. During the time the club was twice recognized by AZ GOP and the Governor as the Best Republican Club or Organization in the state. He is currently the club Secretary.
He is a Precinct Committeeman. He has served as the 2nd Vice Chair/Program Chair for GOP LD 8, and later the GOP LD 23 Committee, and as a State Committeeman.
He is active with the VFW, currently as Adjutant, formerly serving as Post Commander. He is on the Boards of the Fountain Hills Chamber of Commerce; the River of Time Museum; the Marine Military Academy in Harlingen, TX; and a philanthropic foundation/trust.
He is married to the former Marie Delangis of Michigan and has 7 step-children and one dog. He lives in Fountain Hills.
TREASURER – NICOLE OSWALD
Was born in Africa. Have lived in South Carolina, Japan, Guam, California, Colorado, and Minnesota.
Moved to Colorado after completing college where she raised two children and worked 32 years as a Registered Nurse.
Have visited Fountain Hills for 18 years before moving here and have lived here full-time for the past four years. Currently serving my second two-year term as the club’s Treasurer. Am also a Precinct Committeeman for L. D. 23.
